ADAPT: Design for Testing

Stage III: ADAPT

180 DAYS: June 8, 2020 to November 30, 2020

Competitors in this stage had 180 days to document a thorough and robust design of a system specific to testing at Jennette’s Pier, but that can be scaled for similar environments for disaster relief or remote community water access. This was done through a combination of thorough engineering analysis, design drawings and documentation, and developing a plan to build their technology in the CREATE Stage. Teams that demonstrated the technical capability and detailed plans to build a functional or proof-of-concept prototype were awarded a cash prize and invited to compete in the CREATE Stage.

10 winners were selected based on their strong submissions to the second stage of the prize. These teams were each awarded an $80,000 cash prize and may continue building on their innovation in the CREATE Stage.
