Data-Driven Distributed (3D) Solar Visibility Prize Results
The American-Made 3D Solar Visibility Prize is a $250,000 competition designed to incentivize the development and deployment of distribution system state estimation (DSSE) tools. Competitors developed a DSSE tool and tested them over a 14-day period. The prize is now concluded.
The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office awarded cash prizes to the top seven teams. Three winners each received a $50,000 cash prize and four runners-up each received a $25,000 cash prize. Read the winner announcement on HeroX, the official prize platform.
